2025. 12/5 fri - 21 sun

Kangawa Yoshio Ceramic Exhibition
2025. Dec 5 (Fri) – 21 (Sun)13:00–18:00 / Closed on Wednesdays
We are pleased to present the first exhibition in two years of works by Yoshio Kangawa.
Kangawa has long created everyday vessels—tea bowls, tea utensils, and other objects often referred to as zakki. For this exhibition, however, we seek to delve deeper into the qualities of “ritual vessels” that we perceive within his work, and to explore the points where these sensibilities intersect.
Following the 2022 exhibition of boxes and bowls alone, and the deepening expression seen in his tea bowls over the years, this exhibition marks a new direction—an exploration that departs from his usual line of production.
Throughout our long relationship with Kangawa, we have continued to present works born through an ongoing dialogue between artist and gallery. In this exhibition, we hope you will witness his response to the abstract question of “ritual vessels.”
The recent firing was, by his account, the most satisfying to date.
Centered on works in white porcelain and white clay, roughly 500 pieces will be on view.We would be delighted to share the results with you.
